Graham McKean, Board Chairman

Graham McKean entered the Lloyd's market in 1959 as a trainee and went on to specialise in North American casualty reinsurance, which he headed for the broker CT Bowring until 1980. In that year with others, he formed Ballantyne McKean and Sullivan.

He has addressed numerous organisations in the US and the UK on Lloyd's and other insurance industry matters. He was a member of the Lloyd's Market Board and an elected member of the Council of Lloyd's for six years, also serving on the London Market Brokers Committee.

Has recently qualified as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Dimitris Tsesmetzoglou, CEO

Dimitris Tsesmetzoglou completed his Bachelor of Science, in Insurance and Investment in the City University Business School (now Cass) in 1997. He began his career in London’s Insurance Market in 1998 in Windsor Professional Indemnity where his role was to develop business from Greece and Cyprus. In 2002 he moved to BMS International to launch an office for BMS in Athens. The BMS Hellas office was successfully launched in 2003 where Dimitris was a partner. During that period he also successfully completed his MBA from Leicester University. He has done various publications and taken part in various panels. In September 2006 he lead the successful Management Buy Out of the BMS Hellas office from the BMS Group.

Dimitris is also on the advisory Board of the undergraduate programs for CASS Business School in London, on the Finance, Investment & Insurance courses. He currently lives in London and travels to Greece weekly.

Gerry Tighe,Vice Chairman

Gerry entered the Lloyd's market in 1978 as a trainee broker and went on to specialise in international reinsurance.
Since then he as worked as a Leading Underwriter at Lloyd’s of London, being responsible for writing a Worldwide Property Treaty portfolio and as reinsurance buyer for the Syndicates outwards reinsurance. Subsequently, as a Vice President at Guy Carpenter and as a Board Member at BMS International Intermediaries responsible for the Eastern Mediterranean Region.
With more than 30 years of reinsurance experience of all of the major world markets, he is able to offer clients strategic advice and placement services for the reinsurance of all types of non-life insurance portfolios.
In September 2006 Gerry relocated to Athens to become a founding Partner of BMS Hellas.
